RE: Four batteries?

Forget all these little poop-you-pants battery setups. We have two 8D maintenace-free and two gp 27's (that came with the trailer)for a 4 battery total. And a 110 watt solar panel to charge everything up. Contrary to popular belief, if you have a solar panel with a charge controller, you don't need deep cycle batteries. I've had these same 8D's since 1999! Along with a dealer-installed 2000W inverter we can dry camp for two weeks without have to fire up the Honda 2k. Regular camping (no military showers), couple hours of TV/Tivo a night. Microwave maybe 5 min a day. Can't go crazy on that one.

RE: This BigHorn disease is spreading.......

bobsue, you should love the Bighorn. We've had ours since November of 07 and been out 6 times. Ours is the 3100RL. Very nice rig. Gelcoat siding, aluminum 16" rims, Corian counter in the kitchen, porcelin in the bath sink and toilet. All things we wanted in our new rig.

RE: Yosemite Upper Pines

I like the idea of reserving an adjacent site. I also know first hand how strict the campground can be about staying on the driveway. Almost got a ticket at Doran Beach over this parking thing. Thanks DaveG...I'll call the ranger about any particular site we got our eye on.

Yosemite Upper Pines

Yosemite Upper Pines spot 26.....
Can somebody explain why they have a 24ft trailer max length in a spot that has 35 max vehicle length? My 5th wheel is 35 ft long, can I legally stay in this spot?

RE: Wave 6 catalytic heater

Heck we start our catalytic heater with the door open (because it needs oxygen) and about half hour later we shut the door and open a window a couple inches for the rest of the time it's heating. If I don't do the door thing the leak detector goes off after 15 minutes.

RE: RV carports

No worry about snow in the flat-lands here! And it looks like they all have ribs running the full length.
Just want to keep the sun and bird dung off it.

RE: RV carports

I bought a 40 ft and a 30 ft from Cover All located in Elverta Ca
Are you happy with it? How'd the install go? Did it hold up with our 65 mph wind here a couple weeks ago?:E

RE: RV carports

Check with your local building department for local regulations and zoning before you buy.
I'm not sure if Yuba County would require a permit for a "temporary" structure such as these. I'll check with them.

RV carports

Anybody have any good luck with one of rv carport dealers out there? I'd like to cover two fifth wheels, one is 31 ft and the other is 34 ft long. Somebody that works in northern California. These guys http://www.gaport.com/regular.covers.htm have peaked my interest.
Thanks, Rich
